    Replacing the Starter

Already on my second fuel filter and only done 1000 miles, if that. Will try the redex & 2 stroke oil, how much 2 stroke oil to a tank? I generally put 60 litres of veg in one go when it's getting low.

Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDi for sale £500

Hi Chaps, I've gotta offload my trusty old Fabia. Had it for a few years and it's been great. I've put it on Gumtree for £600, but really need it gone soon. Some details here: http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/mybbforum/showthread.php?tid=36286&pid=422365#pid422365 Or Gumtree advert here...

    Replacing the Starter

I do currently run with the fuel filler cap on really loose, so don't think it's that. Still need to tinker with the little tank valve thingy. Don't really want to remove the fuel filter altogether as I might well be selling the truck soon in favour of a LWB or a van. I was thinking it's either...

    veg oil prices

I run SVO from Makro at £15.40 for 20 litres. I'll be using the car less though soon as I will be getting a new company car. Need to get an MoT on this one but might then sell it. Would prefer a long wheel base to really tinker with to make into an overland expedition truck, although might get a...

    Passenger Footwell Water Leak

I really ought to get on with sealing mine. I've got a leak coming down the passenger footwell when it rains, i suspect the front scuttle panel under the wipers. Sounds like a fairly simple job to remove and re-seal. Teh boot's prett sodden. I lifted the carpet and there was a load of old...

Reliable Supplier of Clear Fuel Hose

No worries Zac, Just thought I'd give you a nudge as I'm moving house in a couple of weeks and don't know where I'm going to end up. Don't worry about a refund, just get it to m when you can. :clap

Reliable Supplier of Clear Fuel Hose

Does anyone know where I can get some clear hose compatible with veg oil and thick enough not to distort? I want a couple of lengths to go between the lines to and from the fuel filter so I can see if/where air/s getting into the system. I might replace the hoses from the tank to the lines too...

    Replacing the Starter

Trying to narrow it down still. It appears that the plunger on the top of the fuel filter is being pulled down, possibly due to a blockage somewhere between that and the fuel tank. This has been leading to hesitation at higher revs and under load. Could be a faulty filter head too I suppose...

    Replacing the Starter

Yeah! I've only gone and bloomin well dun it! Had a friend come and give me some moral support, but got the new starter fitted. I'm still gonna replace the battery cable as it's quite perished, but reconnected everything and it started straight away. :clap Now I just need to sort the fuel...

    bloody car

I've ordered a new starter off he internet, which I now need to collect from DPD. I've still not manage to get my starter out. I can get the bottom bolt okay, slow, but can manage. I just cant get the top one off, the space seems so small that only a socket will fit on the bolt, but then...

    Replacing the Starter

So, I have the new starter on order. One I get this one off I will see if I an repair/refurbish it myself and keep as a spare. Probably just needs replacement bushes. I bought some of these to help get the old one off...

    chrome side bars

Had thought about some for mine, but as it stands they'd be probably the tidiest and most expensive part of the whole car.

    House Door Key Barrel

If you're worried about the security of the euro cylinder lock you will want to ensure you get an anti-bump anti-snap one. They will be a little more expensive, but the standard ones snap in the middle when force is applied allowing you to unlock the door in seconds. I fit these for a housing...

    Is this New Battery Knackered?

This battery is only 2 weeks old, so must be something seriously wrong with it, don't need it anyway, so will get £110 refund. Might need to use that for a replacement starter. Haven't tried cleaning the terminals, will get on with that. My cables are also pretty knackered where they meet the...

    Is this New Battery Knackered?

Off the shelf and chucked it straight in. I'd managed to flatten my battery (or so I thought) after lots of cranking while I had a fuel issue. Bought this battery, chucked it in and still same result, slow/no cranking. Figured the starter motor had died so would need to replace it. Wondering...

    Is this New Battery Knackered?

I was having starting issues and thought my battery was dead. Bought a new one from Halfrauds for convenience. I didn't get the one they were trying to sell me as it was tiny and the terminals were the wrong way round I think. I bough a different one that they sell that has terminals the right...

    Replacing the Starter

Thanks, Doesn't sound too hard to do, will probably have a crack myself. Luckily I have small hands so might manage to wiggle it out. I don't have ring spanners with ratchets in, but think they could ell be a very useful addition given how tight everything seems to be in the Terrano. Looks like...

    Replacing the Starter

I think the poor running and difficulty starting, caused by air in the fuel system put lots of stress on the starter. The positive lead is pretty knackered at the battery terminal and will get replaced soon. I did run a jump lead down from the positive terminal to the starter and one from the...

    Replacing the Starter

Hi chaps, Managed to gt back from Cornwall after some help from the chaps on the VoD forum. The issues I had were: Poor performance under load on the way there, so I took out the banjo to see if that was at fault. I then couldn't start it. Turned out that the plug below the banjo, where it...

    any members near st. Austell?

hi, I've headed down here camping in the terrano. It was okay on the way down, but still a little rough andstruggling up hills. I've got some tools with me so I thought I'd take out the banjo and see if it could be cleaned out. I have the type with a hollow shaft. I can't remove the filter with...
