    Terrnao 2 now on eBay

Did he do the lights first, then take everything out to do the insulation? I suppose the ideal would be to have a LWB commercial type (if they do them) then you have a good base to start from. There's space in the engine bay for a leisure battery. Doesn't need to be too OTT, but a double bed...

    Terrnao 2 now on eBay

Thanks, I'm sure someone will buy it, it's already got bids on and there's 5 days to go. Originally I wanted a LWB Terrano/Pajero to convert into an overland expedition camper (on the cheap) sack off this life and drive overland to the far east. I've since managed to sell the house I had been...

    Terrnao 2 now on eBay

Got nowhere to keep it now I have bought another car. Busy organizing to move house too so need to de-clutter and get some money back in the account. Someone will buy it for £300+ It'll cost me time and money to get it running properly, plus all my tools are in storage so it's awkward to get...

    Terrnao 2 now on eBay

Hi all, I've just run out of time and money to do much with the Terrano. I've had the chassis welded up so apart from the sensor issues it's fine. I also found a chap locally, http://www.247autorecyclers.co.uk/ who will do the No1 injector for £25. He's also got a crank Position sensor and...

    Reluctantly Brought a new Car

Thanks Banshee, just let me know when you're able to do so. Hopefully yours are the same type as mine. I'm going to try just swapping out the MAF and see if that clears that code. Have it booked in with a chap on Tuesday morning to get the front chassis welded up. Might be interested in the...

    Reluctantly Brought a new Car

So, I found out today that the chap who I was getting the injector from, with a needle lift sensor attached to it, which has done less than 1k miles since being refurbished has got a different injector to mine. I need a number 1 injector complete with working sensor from the type with hex bolt...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Spoke to a local mechanic. He's had a look and reckons he can weld this up for £70 max. Should see about getting the O/S sill welding too, might even pass next years MoT then. i had a good look at the rest whilst it was in the air. I know the O/S ARB drop link needed doing, but the track rod...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Okay, anyone know a realiable (and not too expensive) specialist welder near Bristol/Axbridge that could do this job?

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Thanks Ferret, I knew I wasn't imagining things. I will go get more pictures later and see if I can get a clearer idea how bad this is and exactly which part needs replacing/welding.

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Maybe the picture of the area's not clear enough. You can see the rounded end of the lower arm, just to the right of this there's a crack through the entire frame to the left of the bolts from the tie bar. You can see at the bottom of the frame. if you click on the image you should be able to...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

On the top picture it looks like there is a crack between where the single bolt passes through the lower arm and the two bolts to the right of it. The nearside certainly doesn't have this large split. Are you sure it's nothing to worry about? don't want the front wheel falling off or anything.

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Looks like I'll be keeping the terrano for a little while longer then. I had a good look underneath and I know I'll need to replace the front ARB drop link and will get the track rod ends done. Also will get a replacement UJ for the rear prop shaft. There appears to be a large crack/split on...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Spoke to the DVLA and they're happy to accept a a letter with it should i sell it confirming dates he had it. Any tickets etc issued and I'll send a copy of the completed log book with his details on it. I didn't actually send the V5 off as I didn't get round to it, so I have it with his...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

I've found a chap not far away who's got a terrano to break and had recently replaced the injectors Maf etc. I can have the No1 Injector for £50 plus crank and Maf for cheap. Might get some other bits and then get the front end sorted so I have a working tow vehicle. I find it too much of a...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Well, just got off the phone with Action Fraud and citizens advice. Also have had it reported to the local constabulary as this may be a crime this chap is happy to commit time after time, doing up cars by sourcing components in this manner and selling them on when otherwise it would not be...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

I'll check the car over again tomorrow before looking at getting any parts, no point spending money if I just get the guy arrested and take back my £500. If anything's a miss I won't be ordering anything, just turning up on this chaps doorstep with the plod. The issues he's been stating with...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

I'll be having a very close look tomorrow at those parts. A MAF is only £20 or so, UJ £25ish. But then if I can see he's swapped them out I'll not contact him, I'll just turn up at his house with the police and have him arrested for fraud, no skin off my nose. Would've been happy to have had the...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Well, I wouldn't have thought the buyer I had lined up was any part of the scam as he came via here. It's a friend of Madmark called Ed. I spoke to Ed White prior to agreeing to take back the terrano and he was absolutely keen. We went through everything I knew (and have now been told) is wrong...

Need to Sell the Terrano now

Well, I've done it now. Got the car back from him and can't get above 30 mph without a downhill stretch and a long straight run. Engine management light is on. The chap who wanted to give me £500 won't answer the phone, email or texts so pretty certain he's decided not to bother. A tad rude...

    egr question

Can you bridge the terminals of the maf socket, like on a VAG one using a resistor/variable resistor? Just wondering if that's a simple way to test for a faulty MAF
