Offroading truck doesn't want a dirty great wheel banging about all the way out there where trees and other nasties get it

I ones I have seen come with "protection mats". Don't know how good they would be, which is why I was asking if anyone has used one. :nenau

I had one in a job lot buy but never used it, They are ok but more designed for sand but would work well enough in snow. Would be better than the standard jack for sure.

I know of someone who used one on a greenlane and the stones punctured it. Good thing about the hi-lift it can be used for more than just a jack. Although this lane was so bad he had like 2 or 3 tyres punctured too!

Some people carry a small piece of plywood for extra protection.

Do they work with standard terranos etc as been thinking about one for a while but don't know how they work on my truck

They're no help on a std T2 without this to use on the wheels .
If you have a tow bar you can lift there carefully if the paw will reach

Watch out when jacking with the wheel straps the base of the hi-lift like to kick out due to the distance you have to jack from the vehicle and the angle you have to sometimes jack at.

Yes, I find that you have to watch the top of the jack against the body. It's OK as you lift, but is always closer as you let it back down. Even using it on the flat concrete drive, a couple of times, I have had to stick bricks under the wheel, and lower onto that, as it would not go all the way back down with out putting a dent in the side.

I was thinking of taking the removable tow bar idea that used to be on here, and bolting a couple of square tubes to the front Chassis mounts, and then getting one of those "Land Rover" sticking out pole attachments for the jack, so you could lift the front easier.
