trailer
not much left to build a trailer out of i'm afraid.what was left has been picked up today.have got the rear diff but thats about all i have got left for your project.
i was gonna build a trailer to suit my t2 but not as exravagant as your idea.got a set of 4 diahatsu 15"rims with 235/75/15 tyres on them so i was gonna get some spacers made at work to take the wheels then build the rest of the trailer around the axle.did it years ago with my sj had a pair of sj wheels on the trailer and sprayed it the same colour as the motor.did look well if i say so myself  |

First thoughts about this idea, absolutely barking!
Then I thought about the issues raised of centre of gravity etc, and wondered........... Rear ends of 2 LWBs. Both cut at B panel, and joined to produce a trailer with 2 rear ends, axles adjusted into the middle of the project to produce a twin axle trailer accessible from either rear door, loads of space, possible very stable but no doubt a pig to reverse! |

Re: LWB T2 Trailer
[quote="Sweety"]It might sound silly but when I get the funds I'm thinking of building a trailer from a LWB T2 as I've se it done with cars in the past.
I was thinking of chopping the front end off at the B posts& making a front panle with a window in it. I prob keep the rear doors to make easy to get in/out of the front end Hi Sweety, Not sily at all and I am sorry I pinched your idea for the car cut to a trailer and its great for off road, there is a picture of mine here if you want a peek http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/pathie...52656566410498 Only thing is it takes twice as long to clean after playing, but it never matters in Photoshop, just rub the dirt off and your laughing. |

Lwb t2 trailer
looks very smart that does gromit.as for keeping the weight even how did you overcome that issue?
i am going to replace the diff with a made to size beam axle with braked hubs.gonna have the hubs re worked to take the 6 stud terrano rims.just got to check the original lights meet the spec for trailer lights. as for drawbar length will cross that bridge when i get to it but the length and size of steel used could counter balance the back for easier towing and keep the nose weight acceptable. as i work for an engineering co have got access everything i need so hopefully wont be too long before this project gets off the ground. would love to hear your ideas sweety, the more input and advice the better. |

Sankey trailer axles? Use 5 stud Landie wheels, but if the trailer keeps a rear door wheel mount that would be easier to adapt to a 5 stud wheel that the hubs to adapt to a 6 stud.

Lwb t2 trailer
problem is if i get sankey hubs ive got to get the rims too.was just trying to work with what i have got for the mo.the main issue is cost at the moment.dont really want it to turn into a mega bucks project.have hopfully sourced the hubs from a knackered towing dolly from a blokes brother at work.also the hitch and all brake cables if they are not too battered.will have to have a good look at them at the weekend.the box section for the axle and draw bar ive scrounged for a small fee from work.got to buy a sheet of steel to blank off the front end about £15 from work.just got to strip all non essential parts from the back end then its grinder time
