Well surprise surprise, the old girl went through, all I did was jet wash it off, cos where I live it was proper grott underneath, and adjusted the rear brakes, only advisories fuel pipes corroded, (whose aren't) and front bumper insecure, nice man stuck some gaffer tape on it for me, it was a bit wobbly cos I managed to ram a bit of farm machinery a while ago that has been there for years, but I swear it moved, Rick

I fitted the orange poly ones last year and the same ones are still on it and it passed, and I live down a 400 mtr rough track so they take a hammering, I say no more, Rick

Yeah I had them on my last T2 & liked them & after 3 years were still like new but it's the links that are shot as there is play in the ball joint bit & they are starting to make a crunch sound. Easy to do but had other things to do around the house etc & keep putting it off & forgetting:doh

Half an hour to change, but you might need thick washers either side as the hole in the lower wish bone tends to elongate, and the rubbers can pull through:doh
You don't need to jack the car up, or remove the ARB, but can help if they are difficult to remove.:thumb2

Washers will be getting fitted anyway rustic as I know the wish bones can elongate (had on my last one) so might as well fit them now to poss help slow it down but the ARB might have to come off to grind these links off:doh I think these ones are cheap & nasty jobs:rolleyes:

thanks Pete, things bit hectic here at the moment, so much to do, so little time, main thing was genny going down, meant real economy on electric, but new one up and running now but was hard work getting it there, Rick

The last pair were really quick, as I ... fitted the previous pair with waxoyl on the threads, so the nuts came off easily. It is so much easier doing this in a warm garage, with plenty of light.
And of course remembering the allen key hole in the bolt to stop it turning helps too.:thumb2

EDIT:-
To be fair, it actually takes me longer to decide where to get them from, than do the job. :doh
Milner did have a problem with one batch a few years back, off set was wrong.
