Dear Prime Minister,
Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in a nursing home. This way the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies and walks. They'd receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, much faster than normal. Any medical aids would be free and they'd receive money instead of paying it out. They would have constant monitoring, so they could be helped the moment they fell, or if they wanted assistance for anything.
Bedding would be washed twice a week, and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them. A guard would check on them frequently and meals would be brought to their rooms.
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose. They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual counselling, cultural areas and education.
Simple clothing and their own specialised legal aid would be free. Private, secure rooms for all, with an outdoor exercise yard and an opportunity to contribute to their gardens. Each senior would have their own TV, radio and daily phone calls. They'd even be given a bit of pocket-money to spend on items specially delivered!
There would be a board of directors to hear complaints, and the guards would have a code of conduct that would be strictly adhered to.
The criminals would get cold food, be left all alone in smelly rooms all day and rarely see a visitor. No music or TV after 8 pm, and showers every second day, at the most. Never get thier own clothes back from laundering. Everything they'd ever owned would be taken away from them and they'd be stuck there until their died.
