Funny So Have I.

Yep I broke down as well today, I slowed to let a car pull into a side lane, then as I pulled away inn first and changed to second there was a clunk, like it had jumped out of gear. that was it, no drive, in any selection, four wheel drive, two or low ratio. No noises from any were and gear selection is smooth, but no drive.Recovery wondered if it was the clutch. The mech at my local garage, who has got a range rover said it could be a drive shaft, They are looking at it tomorrow and will let me know. Ive got a feeling it could be expensive.

Could be gear selector, similar happened to me.

its strange that you have no drive in either 2wd or 4wd... id guess gear selector too or gear linkage

If it was a drive shaft then selecting 4 High will give you front wheel drive only, enough to get you home.:nenau
