When changing my glowplugs I noticed a small amount of oil in the intercooler and when I split the throttle from the inlet manifold there is black tar /gunk in the front port.

After research I picked up from a patrol forum that this can be caused by overpressure in the oil system which feeds back through the breather. The recommendation was to fit a oil/air filter in line. Has any one done this and if so can you recommend a filter/ procedure

I fitted a provent catch can to the Trol recently bud, details in my project thread :thumbs

Thanks Barbeast :thumb2

My manifold was pretty clean at the aft port and only dirty on the fwd one. Will fit the Pro Vent but will leave off the EGR blanking until I read more of your story :lol

I normally follow peoples projects but missed yours, I will be a follower from now. :bow:bow

is there much need for one of these on the TD27? My inter-cooler looks shiny new :thumb2

Only if the oil breather valve starts playing up had to fit one on my last T2 & think this one might start playing up soon:doh you will sharp know if you pull the induction pipe from the air filter to the turbo off & it's covered in oil on the inside
