Yippee.... I love my T2

So today was the big 3 letters day... MOT....

Over the last couple of days, I have given the car the once over, adjusted rear brakes, checked this and that, discovered front brake sliders were seized, so sorted them, changed the front drop links, tightened the front wheel bearings a tiny bit, and generally made sure she was tidy...

Put her in, and she passed, with just one advisory, the front brakes at slow speed are unbalanced by 22% (25% is a fail), but they do level out at the higher speed. Hopefully it is just where they were seized and need to bed in, but I will give it a week, and then recheck that everything seems ok down there....

I am so pleased, as when I bought her nearly a year ago, it had so much that seemed to be going wrong with her, coupled with what I am sure was actually a very bent MOT, I really was worried what they would find...

Still... nothing to worry about now, she is good for another year... :clap:clap:clap

Well done, I'm sure my Terry had a bent MOT when I got it, so many things wrong with it, but I sorted them and it went through the MOT no probs

It's a lovely feeling: passed my first MOT with the Terrano recently & waited with baited breath, decidedly on edge, as its previous owner(s) was obviously a bodge artist. Had the same advisory as you: 24% imbalance (almost failed!), though no symptoms at all when driving. Stripped the fronts (as advised on here) but could find nothing so bled the brakes as a last resort.

Apart from the drivers side front being very hard to eject fluid (passenger side & rears offered no such resistance) the brakes are just as good as always.
This latter situation with difficulty to eject fluid happened on an Astra I once owned: never got to the bottom of that either LOL. Anyone got any ideas on the subject?

If it has the same problem next year I'll fit new pads (3 to 4 mm left at mo) as I cant think of anything else to do LOL. (It wont be funny if it fails!).

I know what u mean, I've had to do so bloody much to mine in the last year, pretty much every running gear component has needed attention, engine faults, power steering leaks, tappets, prop fooked, fuel lines replaced, injectors serviced, maf, its been fully rebuilt

Body and chassis is totally solid tho, 1 tiny penny sized rust spot on seam of rear wheel arch and boot floor, that's it and the other good thing was its got a full power flow stainless exhaust

It's fully sorted now tho, and its been a labour of love to get it to this point
