I ripped all my air con out as well, needed gassing and it's heavy and gay :D

At least you've got room for a second battery under the bonnet mine don't as that's where the washer bottle is:augie could prob fit an earlier bottle but TBH I like the idea where mine is as it gets some warm air from the rad/fan so hopefully it won't freeze up as bad:augie

Well.. I started it.

I finally got the last bits today, the Silicone hoses, the place I ordered them from, messed the order up. so they took a week to get here.

So far I have ordered 1 wrong thing, as the listing sizes were a bit confusing, but I now have the right one on the way.

I made the snorkel up, and did that very daunting part of cutting the hole in the wing. I cleaned up all the edges, and slapped some Hammerite on all the bare edges.

I then did the Air filter box, blanking off the original intake, and fitting a new one in the end of it, then added the mounting for the cone air filter.

I discovered that the silicone Right Angle pipe I have, is not long enough to reach through the wing straight onto the airbox, so tonight I have ordered up a joiner, and another bit of silicone pipe to rectify this.

I then spent the rest of the afternoon trying to make up the brackets for the windscreen pillar, which are a lot harder than I first thought, as the Angle Aluminium I was originally going to use, was too thick, and stopped the door closing.

Taken a few pictures, and will post them up when I get a chance.

Use steel for the brackets on the door pillar, Easier to bend and work.

thin steel bends quite easy in a vice with mr hammer.
pop rivet to post:D

I found some Stainless Steel, so made them out of that... Just got to make the wing mounts now... But that is tomorrows Job...

You can have some pics... but they are not very interesting..

Thats all, as I ran out of day light.

Not sure about neater. I guess when you both have the same goal, and the same parts availible, they are going to end up pretty much the same, but I was amazed that after 3 nights pouring over Ebay and working stuff out, then you showed me your's (ooo err) how alike they are going to be.

sent from my phone, sorry for any typo's.

Nearly there.... I am still waiting for a couple of bits, and I discovered a small patch of rust when I took the wheel arch flare off, so I am sorting that out as well. so can't finish it off today.

I am really pleased with the results..

Looks mint pal :)

I face mine into the car at 90 degrees to that, or it serves as a fly/rain/snow catcher and fills your airbox with shit very quickly
