When you put your engine under stress Ie towing a caravan the exhaust gas will be hotter therefore worse for your engine it's just another way to maintain a healthier engine, you change your oil regularly so why not check that your temperatures are as they should be

I understand what you're saying but what can you do to reduce the heat if it's increased whilst towing, for example. If I had a gauge telling me temp had increased, I'd freak out first off all and then be waiting for something to happen. Might still have 300 miles to go:eek:

I had an early ZD trol, and it was trouble.

the more issues I had and dug deeper the more signs of bodges and others had been
there before.

Cost me a full rebuild, loads of my threads here in Y61 section and eventually
let me down badly towing so traded in for a 2.7 terrano, as had one previously.

Vowed would never have another ZD but knew they had fixed the issues and still
longed for a more recent trol or t2 with the lump.

Now have a 53 plate t2 ZD and loving it. If anything I'd say leave it stock, atleast
in engine and trust good service history and keep it serviced, mine does have a K&N
and tow a 1660kg tin tent. Honestly now have faith to take the outfit anywhere, and
yes it will be out laning soon having had a few hours on a pay n play.

I like the idea of egt sensors and will eventually get one myself, I plan an increase in power on my 2.7 so an egt sensor is a must, that and a boost gauge. If your not modifying though not much point :thumb2

Your list is bigger than mine and you were meant to be leaving it standard :lol :lol :lol
