Has anyone fitted one?
Am thinking of fitting one in the dip where the spare wheel used to sit, with a relay to split charge and two meters on the dash.
Any thoughts?

Hi Clive, welcome.
Most members on here are not familiar with your version of the Terrano, as it preceded the Terrano II or Maverick MkI
So some are probably thinking... my spare wheel is on the rear door.. what is he on about ? lol :nenau
I fitted one to my MkI Maverick, under the bonnet, in front of the air filter, mine has no aircon, or ABS so plenty of room to fit an identical to the main one in.
I had the room, so I made a simple plate and a bracket, no welding, bolted using existing threaded holes if I recall.
Mine only connects to the main battery when the engine is running, with a 40 amp relay, when starting, it is not connected.
If I recall, I used the "radio" supply to drive the relay, as the radio is off when cranking.
I also fitted a solenoid switch so if I want to, in times of poor starting, I press a momentary switch, and this pulls in a solenoid, the type used on 1970's minis or Triumphs to feed power to the starter motor. Before pre-engaged starter motors were invented lol..
For this I used 25mm2 cable (but thicker would be better though). Works fine.:thumb2
