The owners manual states that when an oil change is required to return the dci 2.2 vechical to a nissan gargare to do this operation, but for the petrol they give instruction on how to do it yourself. Does anyone know whats so difficult or what to watch for when changing the engine oil on the 2.2 dci diesel engine.

There is nothing complicated about changing the oil and filter,

Warm engine and leave stand for 10 mins, remove drain plug and drain in normal manor, refit plug preferably with a new washer.
The oil filter is a canister type, accessible from below. With a 17mm spanner / socket slacken the filter canister a few turns, align the "DRAIN" arrow mark at the bottom of the filter body to the protrusion on the oil filter bracket and allow the filter to drain. Remove the filter body and the filter. Clean the canister and carefully fit a new “o” ring to the filter housing body and push the new oil filter into the filter body completely. Replace in the reverse order tightening to 15 - 18 ft-lb

Refill engine with new oil checking the level on the dipstick before and after start up.

Engine oil should be a 15W/40 conforming to API CF-4*1, *2
ACEA 98-B1

i do my own oil changes, the type of oil filter fitted to the yd 2.2 in my car is the screw on type a good grip turn anti clock wise will undo, if it will not turn buy a fillter remover thay are cheap, the oil i use is a 5w40 full synthetic.

make sure which type of filter is fitted the one i have mentioned or the one previously mentioned.
