Just a few words to say hi. I'm Del from Herts and i'm the proud owner of a 97 LWB T2 2.7 SE. Still pretty much how she rolled out of the factory, but getting a bit like "Triggers broom" with replacing all the components. :)

I've just replaced the original radio/cassette as the display had gone. I've done a fair few radio swaps on different cars in my time and I'm pleased to say it had to be one of the easiest.
Put it this way, the Wife didn't even realise I had gone out to work on the car and it was finished. (I usually get about 10 minutes before she finds something else I could be doing thats more important than 'working on that bloody truck')

Not sure what component is gonna go next. Last week it was the clutch slave cylinder and hydraulic hoses (£60) and last month it was the starter motor (£130). Intercooler needs changing and roll bar bushes have started to disintergrate, oh and the CV boot has split.

But I don't care coz she's the best bloody car I've ever owned and my best mate hates her coz he's a Landrover freak, and it winds him up every time I roll up and park in his front garden. :lol
Probably see you all in the forums.
Cheers
Del

Hello and welcome, glad your enjoying your terrano:thumb2 you'll find all the answers to your probs on here, it's the best £10 i've ever spent.

whats gone wrong with your intercooler? maybe the pipes have split? intercooler quite a tough bit to break lol

hello mate and welcome! they are really nice trucks arent they, and dont be put off by doing these repairs, id say for a truck that age its perfectly normal and once you have replaced those parts, you probably wont need to do it again!

Id say watch out for the common issues, MAF, No1 injector and fuel filter.

Hiya Jace,
It's got a small split on the front os corner. Nothing major, just have to keep wiping oil of the nearby bits and bobs.
One of those "I'll get round to it" jobs. But then something else takes priority and it gets pushed to the back again.
And I didn't break it, it was like it when I bought it. Honest :wasntme

What is it made of, weldable? ali yes, brass/copper solder it, sorry I do not know as I do not have one, but should be repairable, Rick

a bit of metalset should sort it? used to use it on conveyor shafts in the quarry when bearings had failed and chewed shaft up good stuff but smells fowl:eek:

CV joints: apparently the kind you can split are a doddle to fit, and the ARB bushes/droplinks are a piece of cake £15 from Milners.

Oh and welcome to the looneybin!:thumb2

Hiya Brian
Just had a quick shufti at the Herts off road club website. I'm very tempted to join up as it looks loads of fun.
According to the diary there is a GLR (I assume thats green lane run) meet this Sunday.
Do you know whereabouts it is ?
If you do, could you let me know.
If not i'll contact the club.
Cheers

Lanes are around Royston and Baldock but you will have to contact the club to see if they are fully booked.

I will not be attending as I'm in St Albans City Hospital tomorrow morning at 7.30 for an hernia operation.

Think I'll be pushing my luck to go laning on sunday :O)
