So what would you suggest to do next

I've left it down me mates for him to hopefully sort out by Saturday if not i'll be doing it

You want to start by checking to see if you have 12 volts with the key on at the pump solenoid. If you don’t then you will have to trace it back. With out an electrical diagram for your model I am not sure whether it goes directly back to the ignition switch or via a relay. There is more than likely a fuse in the line somewhere as well. Sorry to be so vague but I am not familiar with the circuit.

Well, got tomorrow off work :clap

So i got 1 day to sort it out :doh

Well

Spent all day on it today to get nowhere :banghead

Fuel is getting from the tank to the filter
Fuel is getting from the filter to the pump
Fuel is getting from the pump to the injectors

Fuel pump solenoid has power & is working

All fuses & relays are ok / working

Still wont start

Tried towing it  still wont start  :banghead :nenau

If it was a petrol, i'd say spark plugs / coil packs

So, taken the pump off & got it tested & its fine

Why the hell wont it start  :banghead :nenau  :doh

does it actually turn over ? .... if not check the switch at the end of the ignition barrell ..... im sure a few members have mentioned problems with that .... good luck

A few people have said that but you can hear the solenoid click when i turn the key...

you mention the glow plugs are working but have you checked the wiring to the glow plugs ?

Yup

Everything is fine :nenau ( but obviously not :banghead )

Its done my head in today  :banghead :doh

Have you got any smoke from the exhaust when trying to start?

ok start from the begging with the basics ..as far as im aware a diesel engine only needs a few things to run .

fuel

air

compression

a source of ignition

When the pump was refitted was it put back roughly in the same place OR with a dial gauge when all fitted ??

Crack an injector pipe or two, then spin the engine, do you see spurts of derv if not then you have to check that you have fully bled the pump and that the pump is working, Rick

Good advice, no smoke = no fuel

compression is the source of ignition
you never seen the programs on how its made and alike

the purer stuff ignites in test tubes with just compression - awesome to watch

it will burn even without glow plugs but rarely enough to fire the engine.... but you will get some smoke out the back even if it dont fire - as long as it has fuel

how about easy start you tried that adz
