Won't rev!

Hi all;
Just bought a 96 N Mav TD, was very sluggish & then packed up within 5 miles of picking it up from auction. Cleaned out tank & replaced filter, now runs very smoothly, but is really gutless & won't rev above 3000rpm: Seems better at low & medium throttle openings, but foot to the floor & it struggles. Will cruise all day at 70mph once there, but also gets hot at high speeds for prolonged periods, which suggests to me there's still a fuel problem, although I ain't that sharp on Diesels... Any ideas?

Look in the downloads section for the Mini fuel filter, clean that out to start with. At a guess its probably never been done.

hi fishcom you could try looking at downloads at cleaning mini filter in pump and temperature riseing may be either blocked radiator fins or thermostat not opening good look sorting problems

Would the sluggish issue be due to a turbo problem? Check any pipes for splits.

Heck I'm no expert but its worth a try.

hi fishcom i presume it sorted the problem cleaned mine about twice in 6 months it seems to make it pick up a lot better to
