wipers squeaking

Hi everyone

the wipers have started squeaking on the maverick so i thought i would fit the new ones i have , but went to change the passengers side i have found the head of the wiper arm against the bonnet and can move the spindle backwards and foward also found this is causing the squeak.
Now the question is do i have to replace all the wiper linkage or is there a bush that needs changing.

It's the nut holding the wiper arm on that holds it all in place, so try tightening that first.
If you need to investigate further :
You'll need to remove the plastic panel across the bottom of the screen (just pulls off but don't lose the little rubber plugs. Also the rubber strip across the front of it (don't lose the plugs) then the panel that's held on with 4 cross head screws, to get to the wiper mechanism.
