I was driving in the rain last night and one of my front wipers stopped moving. I suspect it is dislocated, but how do I get at the underside of the wiper mechanism to repair same. I see a plastic shield on the outside of the front windshield, do I take this off as I cannot see anything from inside the car Terrano R3m-V 1999.

I don't know anything about your motor, however if it is like the old Nissan Bluebirds and one or two other models it is a plastic cup that sits in the end of the wiper linkages that pop off their ball joins on the pivots when they get worn. These cups used to just twist out and were pence. These have all been located under a plastic skuttle panel (grill) below the windscreen. If yours hasnt got a skuttle panel is it accessed from under the bonnet perhaps.

Thanks guys for your replies. Had a search under the dash and located a hole large enough to get my arm in. The problem was the ball joint came apart. With my long arms I managed to locate. Now working as before.
Thanks again. Maybe when the car is in good nick I can share some new offroad experiences with you all. Till then a big THANKYOU to the club. FABULOUS! £10 well spent.

You might find that it happens again, if so you will have to find some new plastic cups for the linkages.

See Ya

wiper removel

hello pile.
please put your truck details at bottom of page so we know which model you have.
if its a terrano you have to pry them of a tapered shaft .BUT bewarned when they come off they tend to give window screen a wack so place a blanket ect over glass first .try to lift wiper arm to take spring pressure off .stick at it itll come off .
you could leave nut on loose to prevent sudden release.
