I took my son to his school concert Tuesday night, it was raining and I was rushing about . we went to the chip shop then got in the car, turned the wipers on because it was raining. heard a snap noise then only the passenger wiper worked . so I kind of drove the car from the passenger side which is a lot harder than it sounds. coming back I decided if I went the fast route the speed would help keep the rain clear of the windscreen. sadly at speed down the lanes the drivers wiper came up and hit the passenger wiper bending them both together and ending up in no wipers at all so now I need to fix them.

The wipers have been squeaking like mad since I got the car, so much that i tried avoiding driving the car in the rain.

So I stripped the wipers down to find parts of the mechanism highly worn (see picture)

I tried local car shops and they told me i would have to use a main dealers, so i drove to the main dealers and showed them what I needed the price was £50 each

so now I have to look elsewhere because I cannot afford those prices at the moment :(

Please feel free to point me in the right direction if you know somewhere else, I have tried all the local breakers but none have any terranos / mavericks in (which i suppose is a good sign)

sounds like a comedy sketch but i have an idea. If you go on the net and try one of the online breakers. you fill in what you want and all the breakers that are signed up to the scheme contact you if they have the part. Ive done thios my self and it works the prices are good and the parts are gauranteed.

cncfabs is the man to try, he is a member on here and very helpfull and very reasonably priced too.

um id look on ebay too, some times them bits there.

of it someone is braking one and has a bit listed, ask them if they got the bit you want..

cant hurt..

Have some of those in good condition let me know if you still need them

go on stevecrm, have it off cncfab...

keep it in the club!

You could always use RainX window treatment in the mean time.

I have now sorted this with cncfab, thanks for the help guys :clap:clap

Has anyone got any tips for setting up wipers?

I got mine set up and hit the switch, the wipers went up the screen lovely then came down the window and halfway across the bonnet too

Trial and error probably as good as anything. Make sure they have plenty water to lube them, if they are dry they wont travel as far.

Managed to set one wiper up at lunchtime. It took me 30mins, I am like a 1 min F1 pitcrew :D

I could not fit the 2nd wiper arm due to me leaving the nut at home :doh

oh well, 5min job when i get home then i can test them out in the rain on the way to derbyshire tonight

:nenau :lol

I think i would forget my nuts all the time if they wernt in a bag :thumb2
