ok, got a funny one here, and I wonder if anyone else has had the issue.

SO, driving along and when I get to above 30 mph, I can hear wind noise at the passenger door. Sounds very much like where the wing mirror is.

I have inspected the door, seals, everything and I cant see where air is entering to create the noise. Its sort of like having the window down slightly, though my window isn't.

I did notice today though, that if I remove the little triangle plastic trim with the Tweeter, my wing mirror doesn't have electrical wiring, and where there should be is just the rubber cover - I can just feel air coming through......

anyone else had this?

I had this with a Mazda I had it only started when someone broke in to it using a screwdriver to pry the window ,breaking it. It left a small kink in the trim round the window and no mater what i did I could not get rid of the air flow noise

Does anything happen when you use the control switch? Not just that you have not seen the wires is it?

I had air coming on via the mirrors on my last T2 so put some thin foam behind the mirrors onto the door & again on the inside & no more air noise:thumb2 not done this one yet but will do at some stage

no wires Jim, already had a look. I plan to replace the mirrors for colour coded ones that work electrically (the drivers side one does work)

ahhh ha! that might be it then! Seems odd that air can get through but I suppose it must get in through behind the mirror?

I will try what you did and with luck that will cure it!

just thought I would follow this up, its driving me mad!

I sealed up the wing mirror, no change. Ive tried everything and last week I adjusted the door slightly as I noticed the door guide thing that the lock goes over had dropped a bit. I adjusted that up and the wind noise is still present, only different-less blustery.

SO, that leads me to believe the door is slightly out (which it is, you can tell) or perhaps its just the seal? To test, I taped up the door with masking tape. I could still just hear a little bit, but the wind noise was considerably less.

Any way to adjust the door so it sits tighter at the top? its ever so slightly out, im talking millimetres...

a small washer inbetween the hinge and door ,on the bottom hinge bolts and the door lifts it up,
this worked for me :thumb2

done this on two trucks now,
first one needed two washers for each bolt (the door had dropped quite a bit)

second one, just one washer on both bolts

if you just put one washer on the bottom bolt this lifts it a very small amount
its a bit trial and error,
hardest bit is holding the door up while you get your washers in,
wife got fed up after 10 minutes lifting the door up and down while i experimented with different washers :lol

Have you tried to bend the top of the door in a bit, I had this once on a cavalier and a mate pulled the frame in a bit, sorted the wind noise

I had to do that when I first got mine, I think that someone may have tried, or even succeeded in breaking into it before I got it. I opened the window, wedged the door open with a big bit of wood, and eased the top of the frame in a bit. Cured it.

I did wonder about this, because its the very top frame that is out, not the main part of the door (same on the drivers side but no wind noise)

I will try this carefully and see what happens!

Just make sure you open the window first!!!!!!:doh

When my mate did it on my cavalier, he used his knee on the inside of the door and pulled the top frame inwards.
