hells bells rick , you dont need a 4x4 , you need a hovercraft ,

looks like you had fun anyway .... anymore " playdays " planned ?

Rick did you have the engine running while winching?
Not had a prob with my Numax dual battery but then the engine's always running:thumbs Nice mud, we just had dust :(

unfortunately no the winch battery was not connected to the engine, I jerry rigged it with some short jump leads that's why the bonnet is open, but as the load was high and the battery flat the engine management system was giving ignition problems due to low voltage, (will not happen on a diesel) so had to wait from time to time, might think about fitting a second alternator where the air con pump was, one very successful mod has been the fitting of the rad in the rear, steel sheet all round the engine and NO MUD WHATSOEVER IN THE ENGINE BAY well pleased, just need to improve ventilation at the rear, probably a fan in the rear door, but engine temperature controlled very well, Rick

Na, no fun with a hovercraft, next meet is 22nd April I will be there, Rick:thumb2

And the genny and water barrels and pressure washer in the back as ballast worked well on both counts, put some weight on the rear wheels and enabled me to blast off most of the mud from where it came rather than at home, even though I used some water to try and clear the rad of a Mitsubishi road going owner, what a fool, do not think he will make it home if he has far to go, it kicked all his belts off apparently:nenau:nenau Rick

Ah, forgot about the petrol thing
Twin battery set up then and good idea with a second alt for the winch battery :thumbs

Found out why the video did not work, the alternator must have been faulty as is failed today, dead short and burnt some wiring, had already tried the camera in my road going T2 and it worked fine, so can only imagine the one in the "black pig" was over voltage, that would explain the fuzzy lines on the screen before it turned off, so will fit the spare alternator I have in the barn, off the scrapper I think, but there must be another around some place, but can't find it, oh the memory, but have several other alternators about so will fit one of these in the air con pump place just for the winch battery, happy days, cant wait for the next outing,
