Finished electrical yesterday, If you look close at the the last picture I have fitted a 600amp isolation switch, and the remote socket to the trim grill.
The winch does come with a wireless remote.
Fitted the solenoid box behind the grill, lots of space there.
No room in the engine bay, which was surprising.

Found that the fairlead rollers are a bit proud, got an alluminium one on it's way.

See what you mean about the fairlead rollers, the pic without your A bar, makes the winch look realy low, but with it on an other story.:thumb2

By the way why do your posts keep disappearing into one post?

The moderator is doing a top job, I tried to post all my pics on one post, unable to, Terranosaurus done it for me. Thanks

You've made a really nice job of that Mate. :bow

I'm sure we'll see those mounts appearing on Eblag soon ? :lol

Lee.

EDIT : When you fit the aluminium fairlead, will you be replacing the steel cable with plasma rope, (or maybe that new-fangled webbing strap) ?

Your right, I will be changing to the webbing rope, the wire one will wear it out.

Thanks for all your comments guys, just took a bit of time to get sorted, as with most tinkering jobs.
Let our lass go shopping when ever I wanted to get on, lol

Hi DJ38!
You did a nice job with the winch mounting bracket . Did you tested it allready in a "real" situation? Do the bracket have any tendency to bent toward earth when in heavy pulling?

I've just bought a 10000 lb T-Max winch and I'm looking for solutions how to mount it on my T2.

Thank's ! (an sorry for my poor english)

Best Regards
Paul "Bigdaddy" Farago

Later edit: Do you mind if I will post your photos on our (romanian) forum, to discuss the solution with my friends?

Hello Paul, nothing wrong with your english,
Lot better than my Romanian.
I have done a two fairly straight pulls with it with no problems.

However I wouldn't do lift with it as the fixing bolts to the chassis are a fair distance from the winch fairlead roller. So it could bend down if really heavily stressed.

I have no problem with you using my photo's as long as this club does not mind.

do you care to say how much all the bits cost?

also if its posable for you to make any one up would like one. how much it would be, compleat kit.. or just the winch tray.

if not maybe some detailed drawings in a down load, so we could get one made else where

Zippy

Total cost:
Winch £190 included wireless remote, Ebay, not a top make, but perfectly adequate for my occasional use.

I removed the solenoid box and placed it behind the grill, extra cable, crimps etc about £5.I already had the steel, so I couls say total cost under £200 , not bad.
But I spent a lot of time getting the bracket right.

I fabbed up the bracket, bit of trial and error as the chassis fouls a straight bracket,
I have been asked by pm's if I can make some more, if I do they will,be about £80-£100.
If anyone wants to measure mine up, or just have a look your very welcome.
I live near Bridlington, East yorks, just pm me.

Thank's DJ38 ! I planned to start the build-off :) when the weather wil warm up a little. Hopefully I will be able to post some pics at that time.
