Yes it looks like it goes into the std bumper mounts, the pig tail mount san dI think the ARB mounts too. I think the later is a bit overkill especially when you consider that mount is just a continuation of the pig tail mounting bit anyway.

Pretty much what I have planned, only without the huge bumper attached too. The one in the picture above that me and zippy have posted is much neater imho and with the additional plate in either plastic, composite or alloy and perhaps even the bumper "wings" in something equally lightweight - ie not steel plate that everyone sems to build em out of - then the total weight of the bumper can be kept down a bit - the winch and winch tray weigh enough as it is, then theres the cable. I'll need t re-re-index my torsion bars to get it bar level again.

I do realise its a disco type but I DO need a bit of er tuffness up front. Just incase I bump into things. It will be deeper yes but also has to be a balance of cash over design:augie
We'll see what we can do tues.

You know that round thing in front of the drivers seat - often called a steering wheel - learn to use it :jesterbg

Didn't you forget what it is for once?? last year or so? :jesterbg

Seem to remember you being pulled out by a Disco..

Damn thing keeps getting in the way:lol
Just the other day while plotting route on MM the ruddy lap top fel off my lap!
I had to stop texting and pick it up from under the brake pedal:eek:
While I was down there I noticed my pen that fell out last week so was able to stop the sun roof rattling with it:augie
Bumped the mp3 player off the ash tray with my knee getting the wire wrapped round the gear stick , crash changed to third and cleared just before I bumped into a tree I hadn't noticed:augie

Cheers mate I'll try:bow

Me???

Been pulled out 3 times for real.

Once a few years back on road tyres in mud

Once by Dadba when I had a go at driving over a great big pile of brick rubble that had been dumped in the lane.

Once by Dadba when I had a go at some ruts that were just too deep for the tyres I had on then

Theres 3 sets of photos about of me being pulled out from set up recovery excercises

On a beach being winched by a 110

At KORC being pulled out by a Disco but it couldn't get me out fully. So I drove out in the end.

And once at Tong recently on a corner that I could actually get round in 2wd.

Well there you go..:D
Now back on topic. How long do you think it will take to mock/make the front bumper up?

A friend is getting a winch bumper made localy up so will be having a look at it once it's done 7 the rock sliders:D

We hope to get the bulk done in a day. Any longer than that and it'll be a bit pricey:eek:
I may have to ammend that statement tuesday!:augie

The structure for mine will go together in a few hours but sorting the shaped bits will take a fair while. Probabbly pattern them up in wood/cardboard to start with, then get em made in whatever it ends up being plastic/ally later. May use structure as base for hidden winch set up to start with then add the rest later.

As a product a modular thing like that sounds a good idea to me, what do others think. Ie buy hidden winch mount to start with. Then later when you want to can add to that to give heavy duty style bumpers - or stay with more subtle hdden winch mount forever.

I'd love to do a chunky Alu jobbie, but it's bonkers expensive at the mo:eek:

When re insuring new car ,asked about winch and was told only allow hidden types due to ins claims.

Ta to sweety for sending us this pic last night.. Thats the one I was thinking about.

Not sure who makes it Zippy but it'll be out of your reach as it'll be around the £700 mark I would think:augie
