er Where can I get it free ?
One for the luvgluv I suspect, but I need to unzip some workshop manuals.

This is what I like about this site, computer related questions answered in less than 3 minutes. :thumb2

If you rang microsoft you would still be pressing buttons to get through to the right department, then only to find the extension busy, and costing several dollars a minute...

I usually get free WinRar (which is very good) from thepiratebay.org

Just virus check the file before running it cos PB is a bit, shall we say, eclectic :doh

Once you've installed it, when you download a file thats been rar'd (and most torrents are) you just right click any of the multiple rar files (I use the first one in the list but I don't think you need to) and either select 'extract here' or extract files' (the latter lets you pick a destination) and away you go, faultless.:thumb2

I download 70-80Gb of films a month from, errr, unspecified sources and I've used WinRar happily for yonks.

In fact Pete, go here - its been downloaded shedloads of times and has good feedback so should be kushti.

I agree with other posts, 7-zip is the way to go.

I agree, for you mare Windows users, 7-Zip is the way to go ;)

i believe some of the films you can download are quite " educational "

No doubt these films are purely for "research" purposes:naughty

LOL no sadly they are all mainstream pre-DVD releases :augie

As to 7-Zip I'm sure its very good....its just if you're downloading torrents from, errr, certain sites, its best to open them up in the tool they were created with, and for most torrent builders thats WinRar. :)

I'm sure its great.

BUT its free, so is not going to be as good or well-developed as a piece of chargeable software.

PLUS, as I say, the vast majority of people who build torrents use it, especially larger files like fims etc.

The link I gave Pete above is to a cracked fully functioning version.

I win. :bow

ok, but on the flip side, 7-zip is open source, and has HUGE development going on, and its free, and you dont need a crack, so youre all legal!:thumbs

if you get into the nitty gritty, 7-Zip, is as secure as winrar, with aes 256 encryption, now thats excellent for free software, and its very easy to use, supports all the same features as win rar too, well worth a look at for nowt!

lol what you winging about, if you use bloody torrents, download WinRAR pro? Derrr... lol

You can big it up all you like Clive....theres no such thing as a free lunch LOL.

After 20-odd years in IT, my professional view is open source sucks. Look how Linux took over the world...not. :D

Thats the link I posted for Pete above. :augie

im hardly bigging it up, just pointing out a few useful features for those interested, its just one of many options out there :thumb2
