Will 245/70/16 Tyres Fit 98 SWB T2??

Hi Guy's,

Does anyone know if 245/70/16 tyres will fit my 98 SWB T2.

I have some General Grabber AT2's currently on Land Rover Discovery TD5 Rims and was wondering if I should sell them or try to get hold of some 16" Rims for the T2 and put them on that.

Have done quite a few searches relating to wheels etc. on here, some say Shogun Rims will fit others say not. Has anyone tried these or any other 16" wheels on a SWB?

I have been onto the site given by Hummingbird and can see that the PCD seems the same I'm just worried about the offset.

Seems a shame to sell the Tyres as they have loads of tread left.

Offset on some shogun/pajero wheels is greter so they fill arches better.

Later model Terranos came with 16" wheels anyway.

The tyres themselves work ot at 29.5" and 31s will fit so no problem with the tyres themselves.

You also need to check the rim width, vs the rim width that can be used for the tyre.
Check the spec on the tyre as they can be different. The tyre spec states the range of rim width that can be used.
I upgraded my 215's to 235's as they were in the range for my rims.
I have to check with new tyres that the tyres are suitable.

Will the difference in tyre width make any difference.

Do you know what the widest tyre is that will fit, I know that varies with Profile slightly.

My other question is if the Mitsi wheels fit what wheel nuts would I need to use.

I would think they'll be fine :smile: I'm going upto 31/10.5R15 when I have to replace mine & have modified my front mudflaps so I hopefully won't have any rubbing issue's :roll:
