The actuators on both my front windows are really weak, to the point where in the dry the windows get about half way down and stop. I have to help them back up  When it's raining they are a little better so I have squirted silicone spray down the groove in the door frame but it hasn't really helped much.

Is this a common problem ?
Is there a solution other than replace the actuators ?

Cheers,
Daniel.

I removen the door panels and sprayed silicone over ALL the moveing parts. hepled a lot, but the are still slow.

Seems to be very variable - my round headlight 99-plate windows rocket up and down, while the 02-plate ones are bloody dire....I was planning to dismantle them and see what could be done but I suggest its a generic problem of some kind as opposed to knackered actuators...........

i think it must just be a problem with friction. Three of my windows go up and down brill, while the forth can be very slow - except in the wet when it is much quicker.

i have alllways found running a drop of 3 in 1 oil down the rubbers works wonders!

Door card off
Air line / hover in
Silicone / WD40 / 3 in 1 oil in rubbers
Job done

well done, its nice to have a smug satisfied feeling when you have solved and issue :thumb2

All sorted - copious amounts of silicone spray in the grooves and they are half decent again.
