yep , got snow , lots of it , and sheila just told me her disco wont start .... its never refused to start in 17 years ... and she hates driving my mistral lol ... time to have a look at the disco i spose
We have a dusting of about 2 cm, roads are clear though.
Re: your starting problem reminds me of when we first bought the Mav, it failed to start so under warrenty they checked the battery said all was fine. I charged it and next day it failed to start again, had to jump start it off the wife's Fiesta.
I told them about the embarrassment of having a 4x4 in the snow, and having to jump start it off a 1.3 Fiesta.:nenau
They saw the funny side and placed a new one on it straight away.
Problem solved. :thumb2
These batteries take a real pasting when the weather is cold.
Your battery will loose more than 10% capability, so if the Disco was only just starting then this cold weather will kill it.
If in doubt, replace the battery.
£119 for a new battery !!!!!
i put the portable emergency starter pack on it , and it fired first time
We've got loads of the bloody stuff, plus a long planed overnight trip today into N Yorks (log cabin with OUTDOOR hot tub ), takes us to one of the more snowed on areas round here, cant wait :naughty

i decided to help a neighbour who was sliding all over the place in a vauxhall meriva ..... i threw him the tow rope , then realised i dont have a towbar :doh.... oh how we laughed
use the tow point under the bumper or on the front lol
no snow yet
i dont have a towpoint , i have a bluddie great atf cooler instead , i think it was " removed " to make way for the massive atf cooler
you should have tow eyes at the rear and front these are normally welded in place, might be different on the 4x4's as they tend to be a bit stronger but they should still be one on the rear if the front has been removed
iirc the one on my mav was below the bumper so wouldnt have thought it would have got in the way of oil cooler
I Did !!! West of Swansea this morning on the A4 westwards towards Fishguard. A mini blizzard - came down witin minutes and covered the road and countryside.I was on my way to Ireland towing a trailer and had fun and games on the downhills.Few shunts along the way as well. Then when we were about 10 miles from the coast no more snow.Just rain.Just moved back to Ireland with my T2,towed like a dream and used less than half a tank from Chippenham to Wexford - pretty good.More later as duty calls.(My name for Mrs 4wheel)
