who has nissan consult running on their laptop

Ah , gotcha now :thumb2 On my consult gizmo there's a green led that flashes away when the ecu is on. Does yours?

yes but the ecutalk software can not talk to the unit just keeps saying failed retry in 5 sec:nenau

i am afraid so, must mean i have a dud box, will ur laptop with ecutalk running link to the box before or only after u connected it to the car with the ign on

My consult gizmo is now permanently attached to the car. I just plug the lap top to the serial cable. Works as soon as the ign is on. Not noticed any diff either way, so it does sound then like you've got a duff box:doh

thats where a pc with a proper serial port comes in so you can eliminate pc hardware out of the equation.

So a few 'idiot' questions about ECUTALK.... where can you get it and how much? what operating system does it need (as I have an old laptop with serial connector & possibly windows 98?)? what cables do I need? and finally what will it let me do on the T2?:nenau:nenau
