My Terrano ,touch wood, is running very well apart from a cloud of white smoke which appears at first start in a morning.A little running white smoke for no more than thirty seconds then no problems for the rest of the day.
I appreciate that this problem has been on the forum many times, but I have not taken heed.
1. What causes this problem
2. What can be done to eradicate it.
3. What damage could be caused if nothing is done

It is going in for Oil Change etc in two weeks so could get it sorted then.If someone can tell me, I will try to pass it onto my garage in my very best French, which I hasten to add is terrible!!!!'
Thanks
Jon

Check fuel lines at rear arch area along the chassis, common place for them to corrode and then leak fuel or let air in.

Have you had the fuel filter changed recently? A crappy fuel filter seal can also let air in.

Still need to know what to tell the garage so that they can repair

Bets bet is;

Check/ Replace Fuel Filter
Check Fuel Lines from tank for corrosion
Replenish Fuel (I've heard of old/watery diesel to cause this)

Get the Mech to check the oil for any water or gooey white deposits, if there are any and the garage has the facility, I'd have a pressure test done :thumb2
