The wheels in picture near our pond are the ones we put on the vehicle a few years ago they are actually from an E Class model circa 2005 being 17" ones.
The wheels in the picture I took in the garage (wheel caps not present) are of a set of period 18" wheels that were an option - they are called Monoblock, they look like split rim as they have the small set screws but they are decoration.
The period 18" Monoblocks need refurbishing - not an issue we have a great local firm that do a good job at a fair price. The car is a smoother ride on the 17" rims they are 8.5J with 245/45 R17 tyres , the 18" rims are 8J with 225/40 R18 tyres the ride is a tad harsher.
I am torn between remaining period - fitting the Monoblocks or keeping the E Class wheels.
Anyone here got a view on which they prefer ?
