This is probably a stupid question.
In the manual for the car it says that for a given temperature range (and I have chosen -10 to +40) I can have either 20w 40 or 20w 50. I have no idea which one would be best, do any of you know? It's an old car so I would imagine there will be wear in the cylinders so would a thicker oil be better? If so, which is thicker, 40 or 50?
