Which new battery?

I'm needing a new battery for my t2. Lwb 55 plate 2.7.
What's the best one to buy? Mines dying, got to jump it all the time.
It's got to have a lot of cca, the one iv got just now is 740, but more is always better

I have a Yuassa on my Jeep and a Hankook on my BMW both from the Battery Megastore via e-bay. Both identical type 019 casings Yuassa is 100Ah 900 cca £86, Hankook 100 Ah 850 cca £65.

Looking for extra cca etc

If you enter your VRM at the Battery Megastore and get the battery type this will give a casing size. You can then go on e-bay and find a larger cca etc.
This is how I upgraded my BMW battery from a 75 Ah 670 cca to a 100 Ah 850 cca unit.

My old Terrano r3mR had a Type 250 battery and I fitted a 95 Ah 800 SAE cca unit branded as a Snapps Gold cost £74.45.

I got a Varta for mine, very happy with it, got one for my brother too, no problem's with either :thumb2

I got my last one from Eurocarparts. Not the cheapest but hey were aware of the polarity arrangement for the battery. They do delivery too if you are really stuck.

Thats a very good consideration.

Also when buying a new Terrano battery make sure you have the lip at the front for the securing plate!!! I forgot about that one and had to make my own battery holder which is still going strong

If you know the battery type that covers things like the terminal size and layout plus the clamp fixing ridge. It can take some burrowing down but when you have that type number for your vehicle you know it will fit. The type number is the "Esperanto Language" of the battery manufacturers.

Eurocarpart sold me the wrong battery for my BMW Mini it was not tall enough and as one of the leads is a solid bar and not a cable I had to pack it out with Polystyrene.

Ive always used halfords for batterys, Theyre a steal with a trade card any any problems in 3 years just take it back and they swap it without hassle.

Yes they can be very competitive with the discount and they sell Yussa ! The son of a friend of ours has such a card via his College Course to become a vehicle techinian.
