Molyslip?

I have used molyslip in my gearbox, 1st to quieten down a bit of noise when decelerating, and never had problems selecting 1st gear.

But thinking ahead, if it won't always go into reverse at the first attempt, I often release the clutch to allow the gears to turn, then reverse is easier to select.
I assume the gears were hitting tooth to tooth.

Oh bugger i put molyslip g in with my new oil. out it comes saturday. should i flush it can i flush it with what.9( if it aint broke leave the f**ker alone neil).

Google 'molyslip synchro' and theres a few interesting titbits....

We live and learn eh!:thumb2

lets put it this way if the stuff is designed to reduce friction, and it does its job then your syncro box will become a constant mesh box requiring a double DE-clutch on every change, in reality most of this stuff is utter crap that you are being conned out of your shekels for, and does not in fact do what it is claimed, however, it is not good to use this stuff in a syncro box as its effectiveness can build up over time, and can take some time to get back to normal after getting rid of it, as for the guy who just put it in, drain it and use it in your transfer box and front diff but not the rear if limited slip, Rick

What worries me now is how to get rid as it claims to cling on.

just drain it and refill with the correct oil, most of the claims are pure hype to get you to buy the stuff, Rick
