Hi, all! A very basic question, this time - Whih oil do you recomend for my 2.7TDi? I understand that turbo-ed engined need something a bit tougher than the average lube, due to the heat in the 'charger?:nenau

Just thinking of an oil-change soon, that's all...

drop oilman a line

I use 5-30,semi synthetic. Cost about £16 for 8 litres, from local motor factors. Change at 6000mls includeing filter. David

Any cheap 15/40 turbo diesel engine oil will do.............just remember to change it at regular intervals.

Ta, chaps! I'll take a squint in Wilco's - I bought some Castrol Magnatec for a petrol engine) in there recently, a heck of a lot cheaper than other retailers! Think I'll leave their Comma Oil line alone, though - that's mostly re-fortified, recycled gloop, in my experience, & lasts about 1000miles if you're lucky...

Yeah I'd love to know which companies are using mostly recycled oil. I used to use Castrol RS which was excellent oil, but changed to Comma oils for my Wife's car, but it just doesn't seem such good quality. Most recently using Red Line Fully Synthetic, which I am very impressed with. (Not cheap though!)

Got to be honest I love Wilco. I used to shop around for parts prices and have always bought from them on price, so I just use them now with just an occasional price check. I've got quite friendly with the guys and have attracted a little discount along the way too. But then I do rather a few 'jobs' for friends and family so I'm in there far too often!
