I was looking at terracan before I bought the Terrano, they are pretty decent tbf, capable offroad as well.

Went with Terrano tho as its easier to mod

You like the T2 driving position, but not the 2.7, why not try a 3.0 T2, I love mine and find it quicker and smoother than my old 2.7 T2.
Better on fuel too :thumb2

few in past have said T2 2.7 more reliable than 3.0 but again its only word of mouth ! CERTAINLY the pulling power or torque must be better ,ive had lots 3 litres in past love that comfy armrest with a tweak of the gas pedal & off , one model i like landcruiser which is mainly used when i was in australia off road , sand dunes everywhere & landcruises tackling em, i had one too 3 days out in the dunes with 8 other trucks & 2 artic units incase we needed a pull .... great days :clap

Yeah, you hear a lot about how unreliable the 3.0 engine is, but looking on here, the 2.7 appears to have a fair few problems of it's own

Ah well that's 'cause this forum is mainly populated by T2 types :D
Hence the prevailing problems appear to be T2 related. Go onto a BMW forum and most of the problems will be on BMWs :augie If you get my drift :thumb2

Td27 has a few electrical gremlins, but is bomb proof, 3.0 as more terminal engine problems like timing chain breaking or expensive injector problems

But like makeitfit says, 90% of us are td27 owners ...

I thought I had a 3.0 T2 ?? (reason I joined this site)
There are a few head gaskets going as well Stinka and I haven't seen anything more than the oil pressure switch giving problems on the 3.0 (easy to fix) on this site and the owners of the 3.0 on here all appear to be more than happy with the engine :confused:
