Have no oil pressure light on the dash, had a lookie on here and looks like the switch dies alot, been looking and found one next to the oil filter housing.

Been to the downloads & it shows one on the other side of the engine, not looked yet as it raining again for a change, anyone know what the one I have found is?

Thanks.. Paul.

Left hand side, drivers side, towards back engine about about 6" down from top of engine, very awkward to see but can feel with hand. Need 27mm deep socket to remove once you remove wire connector. Found easiest way was to unbolt the radiator expansion bottle at front of engine and lift out of way and you can slide hand/ arm down side of engine easier to get to it. Some people remove drivers side wheel and go through wheel arch. @ £23.00 from Nissan.hope this helps.

Thanks Lurch, will get it done if it ever stops raining, wonder what the other one is.

I believe there is two oil pressure switch's , low pressure, high pressure switch, one at bottom of engine and one higher up, 99 times out of 100 it's the top switch that's faulty, The one iv'e changed on mine. Mine was that the light came on but everything was ok with engine just faulty switch. Common fault with these. Not sure where the other switch is, it may be the one you are looking at.

I had the oil light come on a few months ago,I changed the one on the drivers side and the light went out, no problems since.
I removed the drivers wheel and found access very easy, I bought my one from a local factors

Got to test them both on my day off, with the luck I have will change the wrong one.. :doh

I think it's the one on the drivers side that usually plays up, not 100% sure though, on the down load section, it shows that switch being changed

Went to the factors near work, there is only one listed :nenau wonder if they are the same.

I got a tdi and oil light works fine but still have a pressure switch not connected near the oil filter, so where is the one that is working my light, not had a chance to look yet, Rick

Switch near oil filter is normal oil pressure switch, the one at the rear of the engine is the high engine speed oil pressure transducer, it has a yellow band around its top.

If the oil pressure lamp does not light at all with the engine not running (assuming the lamp has not blown but it may be a LED) then I would go for the one near the filter (no yellow band).

If you remove the connector and short the terminals within the lamp should light if the wiring and lamp are OK.

As the 3L engine uses different sensors to the 2.7L it might be worth getting the correct one from the dealers.

A BIG THANKS to everyone who replied, was the botom oil switch, it must have been on all the time as some dickweed had covered the oil light led up.. :doh now need to get a new plastic glass for it as I broke it.. :augie
