What's next on the list?

2 weeks into ownership - i didn't really think i had much wrong with my truck as i've never driven one before (never driven a 4x4 in 22 yrs of driving actually!)

So glad i found this place - so far i've fitted a k@n,cleaned out the almost completely blocked micro filter,done the mech pump diapragm turn mod,egr mod....... and gained 20mph top speed!

I was seeing the fuel gauge drop alarmingly on my 5 mile trip to work,now it hasn't moved for 2 days:thumb2

It shoots away from the lights now,trouble is i'm hooked!,so what next?,handling is i bit dodgy as my anti roll bar bushes/drop links are knackered,where can i buy some decent ones?.Anything else engine wise i should be looking at?

Well how long have you got and what's your end goal? I thought I would just make mine a bit useful offroad and still be my daily driver:lol Now it's become more and more a good off roader and gets used as an interesting daily driver ish:sly good fun on the bends with no ARBs mind:augie dont tell mr luvgluv

i dunno, the downloads are only for TD. although mines odd because I have an EGR, so who knows!?!

Some TDis do have an EGR but I don't think any have a mini-filter, but I was wrong once before, I think.....getting married for the second time I believe? :lol

I used a long telescopic magnet to get the banjo bolt out,then borrowed a gizmo off a mate which is basically a long rod with little grabbing claws that come out when you push the other end,perfect for the job.(think Buck and Hickman sell them)The filter needed an hour in a sonic bath to clear as white spirit/compressed air would not budge it!.Also,after dropping the new copper washer a few times,i held it with a tiny dab of grease.The pump mod was easy working from above once the power steering pump bracket was off.Just bought a set of anti roll bar bushes off e-bay for £16.Not sure if they are any good but at least i can paypal/get them delivered to work without the missus knowing as she thinks the universe is out of balance if she doesn't copy eveything i spend:doh

In the past it seems that all the members with TD's have the filter but only some of the TDI's have them.

i reckon, Jim, with ours being frankenstein style version sof the series, we might have one, considering we have the egr valve...er...except i have no idea where it would be !
