Be prepared to part with a little more coin though Doug.
I believe the Husky winches are worm geared.
I've installed a 9.5 Goodwinch.

Cheers lads :thumb2

So you're obviously confident that 9500lbs is enough for the trol, I could save quite a bit of money going for a 9500 or 11,000lb one.

Spend enough that you can trust it to work when you may need it.
For your own recovery, as well as some other poor unfortunate.
Just my thoughts....:thumb2

Doug my winch in Foxy was a 9000lb Superwinch and more than enough for a bogged 3 ton Trol on a single line pull. I wouldn't bother with an 11.5.

It's a dilema, I can't bloody decide, I have noticed on most winches though that the lower capacity version is usually faster, I think elty said somethimg about that too

Yeh they're the same winch just with lower gearing to increase the capacity

The winch you see on my off road motor was £300 and has been abused something rotten, and still going strong, Rick

I think I've gotten a bit over concerned with specs, build quality should be more important really, I am having synthetic rope however. The website I put a link to last is for a place in bradford which is not far from me and bigbunnys mate recommended them, when the time comes I'll go see them. I keep telling myself to wait untill I have a dual battery setup ready but I want one now so I know if it will fit in the space I have left for it
