OK, assuming that everything goes to plan and I become a Terrano owner, what would be the first things you would do to it?

Background...

I have a opportunity to buy a family members 2001 Y plate Terrano SE+ 2.7 auto diesel. He has had it from new and it has only done 44k miles and only 200 miles since the last MOT which has just run out and has stood for the rest of that time. I have had a look at it and it's a typical farmers vehicle, tools everywhere and not cleaned for eons. The only body work issue I could see was the front wings just above the arch trims. The N/S has a patch of lurgy under the paint and the O/S has less. The under side look rusty, new full exhaust last year and two new tyres. It had not been run for some months, but started on the first turn.

Thanks guys. I'm OK on posting photee's, you may get sick of them though :lol

I think he said that as he didn't use it that much, he had it service every other year. I just need to find a garage who knows their Terrano's as I am not that handy. Could do the engine oil/filters, but that's about it.

You'll be fine and with the help on here you'll be a grease monkey :naughty

Don't forget the 27 has not timing belts or chains to worry about so a reet good service and fluids and as I said the rear diff in particular needs real limited slip diff oil and state this to the garage.
