Exhaust catching body ?

Nah, I've checked that from the backbox to the manifold and that's all good

its a load sensing valve

I'm 90% sure that this is what's causing the issue as when I jumped under the car and rattled it by hand it sounded exactly the same as when it rattles under load when driving along at low revs in a high gear

Should it be loose? and what does it do?

it changes the brake force depending on load, whack some grease on it

Ah right ok, I don't think grease is going to hack it, its very very loose to the point where I'm worried it's going to drop off :/ and I'm going to find it hanging by the spring.

If you look at the picture I've attached below I've circled what I believe it to be attached by, this does tighten but I don't think this is there to hold it in place I think it's more of an adjustment screw

Has anyone had this issue before or has anyone ever replaced one and knows what it's actually attached with?

I'm going to have another look tonight as it was pitch black last night when I was under the car and it was difficult holding the mag light and trying to play with it (no funny jokes) lol

It is fixed to the chassis with two bolts, and has three brake pipes going to it the spring is attached to the axle and loads the arm (looks like yours is seized) depending on vehicle load, so varying brake load depending on vehicle load, I have two more but both are seized, no idea how much a new one is, Rick

O that sounds great :( is there any way I can fix the existing one?

Where would I even go for a new one and would it be an MOT fail if it wasn't working?

very difficult for mot man to check if it is working, but if it is seized and visually kapoot then likely fail, Nissan main dealer I am afraid, even if the two I have could be freed off I am sure new rubbers would be needed and you cant get rubbers any more, Rick

Give it a clean and see whats actually going on there

Hang out your window whilst doing 20-25mph and floor it in 4th gear, if it sounds like it's coming out the wheel arch then it stands a chance

yeah, at first i thought it was a rock stuck on the sump guards
