......................... All of us here were sat on the board of design back in the 1990's on the Nissan Terrano and then again in 95 when the facelift came out and again when Dacia took over.

What changes would we have made to the Terrano that today looking at the age of our vehicles and all of the common faults we know of that plight us all!!! I'll kick off so you catch the drift, lets keep this going and get as many as we can and hopefully we will end up with a "Super Terrano" at the end :naughty

Front Wheel Arches - Redesign the plastic trim so that a hole didn't need to be made in the wing which starts the rot and causes the paint to bubble and ultimately rots the wing into a hole.

12v Sockets - These would be handy as per the 2004 configuration I have (x1 dashboard x1 behind cubby hole near handbrake x1 near rear door) would be useful to have them on a permanent live rather than only being on when the ignition is on

Mini Filters in IP - DON'T FIT FULL STOP :lol

Continue boys :thumbs

Proper steering system without ball joints on top of ball joints :)

For the front wings, I could live with plastic or fiberglass ones. Replacements available from the dealers for about £50 please.

Front bash plate attached with proper bolts, not the M4 or M6 paper ones.

Underseal protection from the factory and plenty of it
Metal Alternative Fuel Pipes - For the Bio Boys
Metal leak off Pipes (leave alone after 2002)

Rear discs, manual hubs as standard, solid jacking points in every corner, ad more importantly, whoever designed my particular interior, will be shot at dawn.

Single skin thicker steel, places like the boot floor and front wheel arch bulkhead area.
Electric cooling fans instead of the viscous.

Better storages cubby holes, later front interior looks nicer but crap storage.

Change the location of the power socket from the rear of the centre console, where it is in later models it gets kicked by rear passengers.

No holes for the body moulds, wont rot out around rear arch and front wings.

Boat load of underseal as standard.

Run the sunroof drains out of the bottom of the car and not into the sills.

Live front axel like patrols and maybe a lokker instead of lsd like pajeros etc. Then would have been near top of the 4x4s.

Two batteries, second wired up to the sockets in the boot. Also a switched connection between them both for start assist like Rustics:thumbs

Grease nipples on the later transmission components like the earlier ones.

All above (have elec. fan already) + instruments that read something useful eg. actual temperature rather than 'customer pacifying gauge', actual speed rather than +20%, mileometer & radio numerals that don't 'disappear' with age/cold weather, oil senders that don't pack-up on a regular basis, reversing lights that actualy light the rear, less roly-poly ride, very dead steering......all these things I've taken for granted on previous cars & 4x4's. Also, made in Japan instead of Spain to their low quality standards.
Otherwise it fits the bill so it can't all be bad LOL.

I'm not joining in...... you lot are just teasing yourselves :D

Have a more thorough diagnosis sensor.
As mentioned, live axle.
Easier located oil filter.
Hmmmm

Stereo that doesn't play hide and seek in the cold weather.

Better leather on the front seats

Front seat arm rests

All rear lights that illuminate, not just the bottom ones

Ooh yeah arm rests, and proper drinks holders.

Massage seats :augie
Air suspension :augie
Panoramic roof (Don't ask) :augie

Mmmmmmm it is a splash plate to limit water, if it was a proper bash plate it would be 15mm thick minimum, Rick

as for further mods I think I will exit, Nissan could not afford them, neither could I, Rick
