Old trusty truck and I headed out for a couple of days sightseeing in Wales again.
I'd spotted an area where I wanted to do some wildcamping. The spot I was looking at was occupied when I arrived, so I had to look for somewhere else and think I got somewhere even better.

Pretty well hidden from the road.

I decided to have a proper stop and walk around Barmouth as I normally drive straight through. In the photo below the trusty Terrano is on the left and somewhat dwarfed by the huge motorhome on the right (like you need it pointing out...).

I occasionally look and dream about a lottery win and a big motorhome, but having seen it I got to wondering about how much fun can be had in one of those things. Bloody huge for the Welsh roads and it'd just be like being at home. Big sofas, big telly, full kitchen and bathroom, and double beds in proper bedrooms. Where's the fun in that?

A stunning road over to Cwm Bychan...

... Where you can find the best campsite in the world.

Finally, it was a wet drive back home through Bleanau Ffestiniog where I saw this and couldn't let it go without a photo.

What did you get up to?

I took Mrs across to a Flyball competition, not really my thing so chilled out watching videos and snoozing in the car.
That's pretty much been my weekend, exciting ehh.

Like your Terrano camp setup:thumbs

Spent 3 nights in York. Got home Saturday evening. Gave the truck a rest and took the missus focus:nenau

Maybe too big for the Welsh Roads...

But not the Californian Coast.

Or Yosemite.

Or Death Valley.

FYI - This was last easter.

I did nothing noteworthy this year. :(

It was truly awesome!

Was supposed to be doing it again at the end of this month... Different route of course.

But, I, errrr, split up with my girlfriend. :doh

Been out laning with Elty and a few other guys he knows over in Shropshire :thumb2

I'll pack my bags :naughty

We took the caravan down to Rye direction. It's not a long way from home, but it gave us a chance to check out a couple of things... Firstly, this was the first time Jiggly has actually towed the caravan, my car is off the road at the moment, awaiting it's MOT, but also more importantly, it was to see how the new 6 ferrets would take to camping, before we start our rounds of steam fairs and longer holidays with them.

Our Ferrets live free roam in the house, so it is a bit of a rude shock to them when we go away, firstly, they have to go into cages, which is novel for them, but they only have the area of the caravan to play in, with no garden either.

As expected, they took to it like the proverbial ducks....

This is "Lion No"... he was called just "Lion", but now actually comes when you say "No", as he gets told it so often. Here he is going through Suz's hand bag.

Hope you have more luck keeping them in than we are having with Suza, she got out earlier today, came back 4 odd hours later, I checked round and found what I thought were two possible places she could have escaped from, blocked them up, but after she had dinner, gone again that was 3 hours ago, once she is back she will have her long rope with a empty 5ltr container attached, the idea is that she exits her secret route but the container hangs up so showing us where, Rick

Good luck finding her Rick... that's a great idea to find the escape route... I will try that the next time the ferrets fond a fault in the defences...:D

11.30 she came in through the dog flap, she will be on her tether from now till we find her escape hole, one of our earlier dogs learnt to climb 3ft chain link, balance on the top and jump off, that was Bonny, Muttley watched a couple of times and although a much bigger Jack managed to do the same till he tore a claw and that stopped him, Bonny was stopped by loosening the top wire so it wobbled too much, love em to bits, Rick

:lol did she smell of booze and cigs?, at least she can find her way back eh. Would be interesting to find out where she went I bet, get gps collar :nenau

GPS nice idea but she only goes within a couple hundred mtrs of our place we can hear her barking but she will not come, as soon as I call she goes quiet, then we hear her in the opposite direction, she travels so so fast, I really do not mind her going after all the other yard dogs we inherited did just that, but the worry is if she gets to a road or worries sheep, Rick

Arh Barmouth. It's 28 years since I visited there. I must go back & see what's changed.
A guy I worked with recommended going so I did when I split with my ex wife (needed time to think).

For Easter.
All I did was fit some LED reverse & brake lights to the truck. I've had them a while, I was waiting for the weather to improve.

What a difference the reverse lights make especially through the reverse cam. Very much better than the standard fit candle
