My advise on batteries, buy the cheapest you can find locally with the amps you require, I have purchased batteries at half the price of the big names and they lasted just as long, as long as you do not flatten them but that applies to all batteries anyway, and a battery is flat at 11.7 volts not the commonly quoted 10.2 volts, bellow 11.7 damage is done that is not reversible another popular myth, is that a 100 AH battery will deliver 100 Ah, it will not about 50 Ah is the max on a start /leisure battery, any more than that and again damage will be done, I run on batteries here and have done a lot of research, if anyone wants a really good paper on the ins and outs of batteries and related stuff, look up Sterling power products and download the catalogue, or Victron Energy and down load "Power on board", Rick

I agree entirely with Rick's comments, buy basic but look after them. Having lived on battery power (on a boat) for a number of years, he's right on the money. Don't go for big names, go for basic big amps lead acid stuff, sealed or not, they are by far the best value.

Re Tayana.co.uk, I bought a sealed battery from them for my caravan but when it arrived it was cracked, due to bad handling during delivery, not their fault. They sent me another for just the extra cost of postage - no quibble. They didn't want the damaged one back (I was able to repair it with a soldering iron! It's still in use on my tipping trailer and giving good service after over a year.)

My battery was on its way out, had trouble starting at the weekend. Quick online search and £90 delivered seemed very reasonable. However I didn't order it.
In the end I called into Selectatyre (used them loads of the years for tyres & brakes - nice guys, good service - I recommend them). They checked my failing battery & a new one (Varta I think - read the stats & it looked good) was £105. No waiting for a delivery through the snow, fitted without me getting my hands dirty.

i dont need a new battery just thought if some one was looking for one

cheap batteries dont last very long when going off road thats the thing leisure batteries are designed with caravans/boats etc in mind so are expected to bounce about

I have been shocked in the past when looking for batteries.....dont forget to check the main dealers also, I have ended up buying from them because it ended up a better battery, better guarantee, for either less or similar price.
I do believe that sometimes the main dealer works out best.
