Not my boots but the T2

It is wet at the rear nearly all the way across

Is there any common causes :?:

I had a problem with my T2 leaking in the boot.

I sprayed it with a load of water and found the seal was leaking which I replaced.

It was better but still leaked so I adjusted the hinges and striker to make it a tighter fit.

So far so good

Thanks for the quick reply jkata

will look at the seal

I didnt think it would be something as simple as that i thought it would be someting sinister.
I hope mine is the same as yours.

I found mine was leaking the other month & it was comming in via the plastic strip on the bottom of the boot. Alot of members have put a beed of silicon acroos the boot foor under this trim

I cured my leak by painting the door seal with waxol, used a brush and made sure I pushed it into folds. Nearly two years ago no leaks since  ....bri

Have a look at the top door seal that's on the roof and in particular underneath it, as the lip rust out.

Bang on, mine too. Silicon grease on the seal and a strip of double sided waterproof trim tape under the plastic strip

Thanks chaps,

all points noted and i will look and do what is required

While we are on the subject or rust i have got it on the n/s inner wheel arch where it joins the bulkhead and on the inside of the engine bay at the same point.
i have not had a poke yet ( a bit scared to !)
this is the only rust i have noticed so far and i will tackle it when the weather dries up at the weekend (So that will be June 09 then).

Checked mine today & the carpet is wet again    so will have to have a closer look at the door seal

wet boot

on my tdi i had the same problem.i sealed around the whole of the rear door seal with silicone :( no joy.sealed behind the top corner rubbers where the clip pushes into the body :( no joy.sealed around the grommet where the tow bar wiring passes through :( no joy.in the end i found it was leaking around the ariel as the roof had rusted under the seal and was dripping down onto the boot carpet.used to smell like my dads feet  in the winter until i sorted it out.

Try pulling the outer seals off and see what behind them, sometimes a clean with a rag on the metal beading does the trick so the seal sit on properly.

The water is either going over the top of the seal and needs packing out or going under the seal.
