Well my maverick has just failed its mot on some welding.
Both outer sills and a crack on the front chassis.

Does anyone know of any mobile welders near Manchester who can do the work?

I have an old mig welder that has been sitting in the shed but pretty much no idea on how
to use it and also dont have a driveway or garage.

Just had a quote from a local welding fabricator who's quoted me about £100
So just need to sort out two rear seatbelts and adjust the headlights and it will pass

That's quite a good result, not a great cost for hopefully 12 more months of trouble free motoring.

Has Cncfabs offered you any rear belts yet, he probably needs to know which colour you need.

Mine is due a mot in December and there's a few holes appeared since last year . I'll leave the mud on maybe he won't notice :lol

Mine's due to fail in a few weeks, sills are shot to pieces! First quote was about £3-400 for both sides, inner and outer - going to ask a smithy today for a keener price using some box section.

If that's still too much, I'll have to take a day off and get in with Mr grinder and Mr welder and try and melt something together! Easy enough job to do if the weather would comply and I wasn't so damn busy at work right now!

That sounds like a good price, just be sure that he is up to the job:thumbs

Rust!!!!

The rust worm!!! Arrgh!!!!:eek::eek::eek: It's a never ending attack!

Even doing a simple job yesterday of renewing the fuel lines, rust was raining down on me constantly. It gets in your hair, down the back of your jumper :( .... and why is it that when you just slip under the truck to have a quick look at something, a bit of rust just falls out of nowhere and into your eyes:hmh
