Water system

My mate is having some trouble with the water system on his 2.7tdi R reg terrano. He has replaced the thermo stat and flushed the system filled with new anti freeze. Problem being he says the top hose is hot to touch but bottom hose cold. He has bleed the system of air. Was told water pump could be the issue.

Still sounds more like an air lock doesn't it.

That's what I thought mate but he says he has tried everything to get the air out

T2's cool really well both of mine the top hose has been hot but the bottom one was cool, changed the water pump on my last one & it bled straight away & was the same

Cheers Neil I'll tell him to chuck a new pump and belts on. Got to be worth it in the long run

TBH a new pump wouldn't hurt as they all spring a leak at some stage & often leak for a while before you notice & this time of year is much nicer to change them in as i've had to do it in -1'c whilst it was snowing not much fun I can tell you

Yep mine started to leak on the maverick. No doubt the one on my terrano will start leaking soon so I'll change mine too
