Started the Mav today, after not having used it for a couple of days, and did my usual look about under the bonnet whilst it was warming up. I noticed a couple of drips of water coming from the front of the engine, around the pulley area. It had the colour and taste, (Don't ask), of anti-freeze / coolant. Is this the water pump about to let go ? There are tell tale signs of "instant gasket" on one of the front covers.
When it was warmer, the radiator hoses appeared to be pressurised, which I gently released by removing the cap. After a run, all appears to be well, no drips, no oil in the water or water in the oil, (I was thinking head gasket), and all of the levels are fine.
Was this a glitch after being stood in the cold for a few days ? Should I be worried ?
Lee.
EDIT : I have fitted a new rad and coolant recently, but have run to Warwickshire and back with no problems. The truck is a 1995, 2.7 Tdi, Maverick, LWB, no intercooler, manual with 92,000 miles.
Cheers.
