Water pump on my 1999 LWB V reg 2.7 Tdi started leaking yesterday, guessing i will have to replace, carnt see a part number on it, also as havnt searched yet, what sort of price should i be looking to pay, will fit myself not a problem with a little help from the guides section, any advice or links would be good thank in advance.

I've just done mine...Easy job.
Price wise somewhere between £60.00 - £70.00 depending where you go....ebay or local motor factors.

there's a Workshop sheet in the downloads section about it, though it might not be exact same model as yours but enough to give you a good idea on what to do.

cheers

:thumb2have had a quick squint at ebay, not sure exactly what im looking for seem to be so many thinking i need to measure viscus? holes and have seen figure of 135 mm would this be correct

Pretty sure yours is same as mine (mines a 1999 2.7tdi) so should be 143mm centre to centre on the viscous fan bolts.

ok will go and check, this is the circle of bolts around the waterpump?

no....It's the bolt centres that hold the cooling fan to the viscous coupling (silver coloured bit)

see 2 bolts either side at top of pump 142mm centres as best as i can measure with a tape measure, thanks think i know what im looking for now

local motor factors will match your reg number to the correct part hardly worth the trouble from fleabay and easy job todo if you dont want to skin your knuckle take the rad out first

ok prob being thick here, so im looking to measure the bolts on the end that attaches to the fan not the engine and they should be 142mm centers this should be from one side to the other across the centre or bolt to bolt sorry for not being able to get my head around this

ok think it will be a call to local motor factors in the morning give em reg and let them do the running, thanks for all your help guys, will follow guide from link on hear, and once again this site and its members are worth far more than the £10.00 a year fee, Terrano = Great, Members = The Best!

measure the bolts on the end that attaches to the fan not the engine.

should be 142mm centres from one side to the other diagonally across the centre of the fan.

Mine was leaking turned out to be the gasket that had perished.Put a new pump on whilts it was all off..

Cheers Gav
