Thanks for that Richard, much appreciated. After the day I've had some good news like that is badly needed. I ordered some K Seal last night from the Ebay link that was post (Thanks Tezzer). So fingers crossed the K Seal will get me through until spring with a bit of luck, just have to keep the miles down.

have a look at the core plug, if it is popped out, drive it back in with a socket, the biggest one you can fit into the recess shape and a hammer. maybe leave until warmer times if k-seal works. pretty sure you can't have antifreeze with k-seal. unless they changed the formula since i last used it, 18mnths ago.

I take it its one of the three lower plugged holes you can see at the front?

Well, If you end up looking at this in the coming months, and need a hand, i'll do what I can to help!

you said it was above the starter. the pic you linked to was the head which has three core plugs you can see, but the one i mentioned, which is directly above the starter is on the block not the head. if you take the inlet off, you will see which one i mean. look under the egr pipework.

Well the bottle of K Seal has just arrived so that'll be in a bit later today when I've bought some more Anti Freeze. All being the K Seal will see me through till summer. In the mean time I'm going to look out for one of those little mirrors on a telescopic arm as I might be able to spot the offending item with that.

I'll report back in a few days when I know if the K Seal has done it's job.

Rather than buy a awkward mirror, why not just jack up that side, remove the inner lining under the wheel arch, and see directly at it? I checked mine, can see it....
