Water dripping off cover behind front pulley, only when cold, disappeares when hot

I've resealed water pump with blue rtv

Is there water flowing through the engine front cover ? I presume so as water pump is bolted to this

Anyone had front cover off ?

Sure its not coming from the water pump itself common problem

not so sure on zd pump cover forms a water channel but dunno about the 2.7

I agree water pump.

Water basically evapourates with the heat of the engine.

took the belt of and there's no gas in it

Guess I'll have to actually replace the pump then. the shaft seal has probably worn and is leaking when cold, but seals under expansion when warm

Some rad seal type products can soften the seal and reduce the leak, but soon enough you will have to replace the pump.
I understand there are two types of pump for the 2.7 diesel, so choose wisely.

its the size of the viscous there are 2 diff sizes
